Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, username, and profile information you provide
- Location data: your current location when you choose to use location-based features
- Health data: with your permission, Stepscape reads your step count data from Apple Health (HealthKit)
- User content: routes you create, profile photos, and other content you share
Signing In with Google or Apple
You can create an account with Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple. When you do, we receive only your name, email address, and (for Google) your profile picture, and we use them to create and identify your Stepscape account and to fill in your profile. We do not request access to any other Google data, and we never post to, read from, or modify your Google or Apple accounts. This information is stored with your account in Supabase, is not sold or shared with third parties for their own purposes, and is deleted when you delete your account.
Health Data Usage
Stepscape uses Apple Health (HealthKit) to read your step count data in order to track your walking activity and progress.
- We do not store your Health data on our servers
- We do not share your Health data with third parties
- Health data is used only for displaying your progress within the app
You can manage or revoke access to your Health data at any time through your Settings or the Apple Health app.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve our services
- To generate personalized walking routes
- To enable social features like following other users
- To display your public routes and profile
Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information.
Third-Party Services
- Supabase: used for data storage and authentication
- Google Maps: used for route generation and mapping
- Backend API: used for route generation services
Subscription
Stepscape may offer auto-renewable subscriptions to access premium features. Subscription terms are governed by Apple’s standard Terms of Use.
Your Rights
You can delete your account and data at any time on your profile.
